Muslims in India offer prayers for Osama bin Laden

Posted by The Mindset on May 8, 2011

Several Muslims clerics in different cities of India offered prayers for the soul of Osama bin Laden. The turnout out was low but in cities where Muslims have a majority or high concentration the trunout was really high.
Here is the Times of India Report.

Times of India report:Prayers for Osama bin Laden divides Muslims

Mosques in four cities observed the Namaz-e-Janaza or funeral prayers for the liquidated al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden on Friday, but not all Muslims agreed with the idea behind such invocations.
Tagged with jumma, the day that sees the largest congregations of the devouts in mosques, many Muslims asked by imams to stay back if they wished to for the Osama prayers, did so.

In Srinagar, however, Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani called for the special Osama prayers as well, and observers said many people may have heeded his call. “Muslim clergy should organise funeral prayers in their mosques for peace to the soul of Osama bin Laden,” Geelani said, and added, “Osama was not just a person but also an ideology against occupation of Muslim lands by foreigners. Western countries must realise that suppression of Muslims in their lands will result in resistance.”

In Kolkata, the Shahi Imam of Tipu Sultan mosque, Maulana Nurur Rehman Barkati, held special Friday prayer for the “peace of the soul” of bin Laden. All-India Minority Forum president Idris Ali, who took part in the prayer, said, “Laden wasn’t given a burial and his bullet-riddled body was thrown into the sea. The prayers were held for his peace.”

In Chennai, the imam of a major mosque on Anna Salai Road announced prayers for bin Laden, a call that was faithfully adhered to, whereas in Lucknow, some youths’ plans to offer prayers for bin Laden came unstuck after resistance from community elders.

The Lucknow Muslims feared that the call could trigger a law and order crisis. In fact, when some community leaders learned about Osama prayers, they rejected it. “Do we offer namaz-e-janaza for all the world’s Muslims? Why just for Osama?” asked a senior Muslim community leader.

Muslims will go to any extant to support terrorism even if it is supporting the Al-Qaeda head bin Laden.
It proves that Osama had enough support among Muslims in India and it’s very easy for Al-Qaeda to get fresh recruits.

Yes we will pray.we pray for our forefathers, all the dead muslims, all the ill muslims and so on.If you dont know the beautiness of Islam please don’t comment. This is the teaching of Islam.Even if you convert to muslim and after that you die then we have to pray even for you.I don’t know who is Osama(Might be some CIA agent), if he is dead I will definitely pray for him.

    • I am sure you will do. After all he was a brave Muslim who killed 3000 filthy kaffirs who were citizens of the ‘Great Satan-America’. Isn’t.
I know the beauty of Islam – each single day Muslims commit 5 terrorist attacks in which 25 people die & 50 are injured.
      That’t the beauty of Islam.
If you don’t know Osama – well where do you live Mars or Antarctica or some cave in Afghanistan.

The beauty is that you anti-nationals pray for the man who promised to invade and bleed your motherland. Leaving no doubt about your love for the nation. Traitors, those who prayed for him.
